Which Is Better, a Combi Boiler or a Heat Pump?
How Does a Combi Boiler Work?
The first type operates using a gas burn that heats water instantaneously. The heating of the apartment and providing hot water will be carried out by one compact apparatus that does not require an additional tank.
The two main features that make combi boilers popular across the UK, are fast heat re-capture and a steady hot water flow under pressure, which is pretty helpful day to day.
How Does a Heat Pump Work?
An air source heat pump basically creates heat by taking energy, it gets that energy from the outside air or from the ground/earth. It’s an electric heating system too, so it doesn’t generate emissions, because it isn’t burning any fossil fuels.
Heat pumps tend to do best when heating is kind of continuous, and when the temperatures are low rather than high like you might have with a gas boiler.
