£7,500 Voucher Grant Covers

  • The property has a valid Energy Performance Certificate (EPC).
  • Your property is currently using a fossil fuel heating system.
  • Your new property is self-build that used the labour or resources of the property owner.

Working Mechanism

An air source heat pump efficiently takes heat from the outside air, even in cold weather. A fan pulls air into the outdoor unit, where a refrigerant absorbs & turns it into a gas. A compressor then increases its pressure & temperature. That heat is transferred to your heating system through:

  • Hot water cylinder

After releasing heat, the refrigerant cools down. It turns back into a liquid. The cycle starts again automatically. This process uses electricity, but creates 3 to 4 times more heat energy. That is why heat pumps are highly efficient.
